Printing and Copying Information

Overview

Members of the University community are encouraged to print and photocopy using shared network printers in Broome Library and at other campus locations, in lieu of using personal printers in their office. Students, employees and guests can use their DolphinOne card or CI Guest card to print and photocopy at various locations on campus. If you are having problems printing with your card, please contact the IT Help Desk at 805-437-8552 (x: 8552) or email at helpdesk@csuci.edu.

 

Service and Supply Request Instructions

If you have a question or problem with a copier or need toner, contact the copier representative for your location (see list below). If representative is unavailable you may request a work order ticket by emailing the IT Help Desk; include your name, location, BMC#, and Facility# with a description of the malfunction to helpdesk@csuci.edu.

 

Where can I print with my DolphinOne card?

 You may use the computers in the following designated locations to print:

  • The HP4730 color printer in the Broome Library 1330 computer lab
  • 4 printers are available in the Reading Room/Main Broome Library on 1st floor

 

Where can I photocopy or scan with my DolphinOne card?

You may photocopy or scan with your DolphinOne card at the following locations:

  • 4 printers are available in the Reading Room/Main Broome Library on 1st floor

 

 

How do I release my print job at the printer (for students & guests)?

Before you begin, you will need to have a DolphinOne card or a CI Guest card in order to print.

  1. Print to a designated printer from any CI owned computer  (see the "Where can I print with my DolphinOne card?" section on this page).
  2. Go to the printer you selected to pick up your print job.
  3. On the printer, press the “Print Release” button on the printer display.
  4. Swipe your DolphinOne Card or guest card.
  5. Choose your print job on the printer's display panel. Click “Print” to print one, or “Print All” to print all of your jobs.
  6. Press the “Home” icon to return to the “Print Release” screen, and then press the “Sign Out” button.

How do I release my print job at the printer (for faculty & staff)?

  1. Print to the Pharos HP printer on your computer.
  2. Go to any Pharos 8 printer to pick up your print job,
  3. On the printer, select the billing option.
  4. Swipe your DolphinOne card.
  5. Choose your funding source (department account) and press access.
  6. Press the print release button.
  7. Choose your print job on the printer's display panel. Click “Print” to print one, or “Print All” to print all of your jobs.
  8. Press the “Home” icon to return to the “Print Release” screen, and then press the “Sign Out” button.
  9. Please note that for large jobs, we ask that your department admin contact Coast Copy Center located in the Town Center at (805) 484-6633 or email at info@coastcopycenter.com.

Where do I buy a CI Guest card for printing and copying?

CI Guest cards are available for purchase at one of the two DOCKs  in Broome Library and the University Student Union.

 

Where can I add funds to my printing or copying account?

Students, employees and guests can add funds to their DolphinOne card or CI Guest card at one of the two DOCKs  in Broome Library and the University Student Union.

Students and employees can also add funds online via "DOCK Online" in their myCI account. For more information about DOCK Online click here.

 

How do I print my document in color?

Before you begin, you will need to have a DolphinOne card or a CI Guest card in order to print. Directions for color printing are posted in the Broome Library 1330 computer lab. There are several HP4730 color printers available. Please note that for large jobs, we ask that you contact Coast Copy Center located in the Town Center at (805) 484-6633 or email at info@coastcopycenter.com.

What is the difference between print and print all at the print release stations?

Print releases the selected job (radio button) and print all releases all jobs in the queue.

 

How do I delete a job from the print queue?

Select the job by touching the job if it is not already selected. Click the delete button.

 

How do I check my balance?

You can check your balance at one of the two DOCKs  in Broome Library and the University Student Union.

Students and employees can check their balance online via "DOCK Online" in their myCI account. For more information about DOCK Online click here.

 

What is the cost to print?

Black and white printing is $0.05 per side.
Color printing is $0.30 per side.
