Sí Se Pudo Celebration
The Sí Se Pudo  Student Recognition Celebration is a bilingual end-of-the-year ceremony that celebrates the academic achievements of graduating Latina/o/x students, their familias, alumni, staff, faculty and community members. This year's Si Se Pudo Recognition Ceremony will be taking place on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the North Quad. Click on the above link for more information.

Congratulations to the newly appointed officers: Carolee Hurtado, Faculty Co-Chair ~ Eric Sanchez, At-Large Staff ~ Isaac Quintanilla-Salinas and the bylaws were approved! The new officers will start in their position starting June 2024.

Chicana/Latina Retreat
The Chicana/Latina Retreat to the Santa Rosa Island aims to provide student empowerment through political, cultural, environmental and social consciousness development; the space allows for community interaction and self-reflection. The next all expenses paid retreat is scheduled for April 13 to 15. The application deadline has passed. Mecha de CI presents, Raza College Day, a power through education event. The event has been postponed at this time. More information will be available soon.


Member End of Year Social
The second social of the year is around the corner. The tentative date is May 8 at 4 to 7 p.m. More information on the upcoming faculty and staff social coming soon!


Annual Los Gritos Celebration
The Second Annual Los Gritos event took place on Thursday, September 14, 2023. The event included food trucks, Banda Madre Tierra, and DJ Sensual with Keynote Speaker and Community Organizer, Javier Gomez. Faculty, students, and staff enjoyed the festivities. We hope to have an event in 2024!


5th Annual Latino Male Retreat
The 5th Annual Latino Male Retreat took place at Santa Rosa Island on October 27, 2023. The 3-day expense paid retreat is intended to empower Latino male identifying students to realize their academic and career goals by increasing their engagement with resources, networking, and opportunities at CSUCI.
