Advising Model
The advising model at CI is a partnership between the student, academic advisors and faculty. Academic Advisors assist students from freshman or transfer orientation to graduation. Advising at CI employs a holistic approach when counseling students so students can maximize their educational opportunities and make critical decisions about their education, career, and life goals.
Students have assigned major academic advisors, but faculty advisors are the experts in the major. For questions about major course substitutions, major course selection, graduate school, and career exploration, see your faculty advisor. Students can schedule their own appointments through Dolphin Navigate or may stop by the Academic Advising Center to schedule an appointment with one of our academic advisors. Academic advisors are busiest during registration periods and the first few weeks of the semester. Students are encouraged to schedule advising sessions during the non-peak times.
