Eligibility Requirements

Students must first submit an application for admission and declare their intent to maintain legal domicile in their home state at the time of application. Students are welcome to submit a WUE contract before they have been admitted to the University; however, we will not review, process, or inform them of our decision until after they have received a final admission decision. This takes place after we have received and reviewed a student’s final official transcript upon high school or community college graduation. Please consult the Enrollment Guide that accompanied our offer of provisional admission for important dates and deadlines associated with final transcripts and other enrollment requirements.

Conditions for enrollment:

  1. For admission to California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI):
  2. The WUE Program is only open to U.S. Citizens and non-citizens legally present in the United States.
  3. Students pursing a second bachelor’s degree, credential, master’s, doctoral, or Extended University program are not eligible to participate in WUE.
  4. WUE students are not eligible for California resident tuition. Students cannot apply time accrued while participating in the WUE program to establish California residency.
  5. Students may receive the WUE tuition rate for 8 semesters (four years) or until the completion of the bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first (extensions may be granted on a case-by-case basis).

Please refer to the WUE Eligibility page for more information

To maintain WUE status: Students must maintain full-time enrollment (at least 12 units) each fall and spring semester and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative institutional GPA.
