Fall 2011Group of faculty and staff met at Tortilla Grill to begin forming the Chicana/o-Latina/o Faculty and Staff Association (ChiLFASA).
March 27, 2012First Noche de Familia held at Malibu Hall with over 200 students and their family members gathered for dinner, music and entertainment, as well as meeting CI faculty and staff.
November 2012First meeting of faculty, staff and students held at El Dorado Hall, including ChiLFASA members, to form the AB 540 Task Force to advocate for more campus resources for undocumented students.
Fall 2013Approved the ChiLFASA Bylaws.
Febuary 23, 2015First official workshop and ally training for faculty and staff organized by the AB 540 Task Force.
May 19, 2015Chicana/o Studies Program, with the support of ChiLFASA, organized the first Sí Se Pudo Student Recognition Ceremony

March 17, 2017ChiLFASA members took the first group of Chicana/Latina students to the Santa Rosa Island for the weekend for a leadership/empowerment retreat.
September 15, 2017First Raza Bienvendia organized to welcome new students, faculty and staff to CSUCI.
Spring 2018CHILASA logo, designed by Margaret Alarcon, is officially approved by members.
Sept. 13-15, 2019CHIFASA members took the first group of Latino males to Santa Rosa Island for a leadership/empowerment retreat.
November 21, 2019The first La Posada event premieres at Malibu Hall with music, food and culture.
Dec. 1, 2021ChiLFASA’s Las Posadas de CI event is celebrated during the holiday season with music, food, dancing and culture.
Aug. 29, 2023Feliz Año Nuevo, Chilfasa!! We kicked off the new academic year with the annual no-host Chilfasa social combined with a fundraiser. We hope you enjoyed connecting with colleagues and saying salud to the new year! (Chilfasa received 20% of net sales.)
Sept. 14, 2023The Second Annual Los Gritos event took place on Thursday, September 14, 2023. The event included food trucks, Banda Madre Tierra, and DJ Sensual with Keynote Speaker and Community Organizer, Javier Gomez. Faculty, students, and staff enjoyed the festivities. 
October 27, 2023The 5th Annual Latino Male Retreat took place at Santa Rosa Island. The 3-day expense paid retreat is intended to empower Latino male identifying students to realize their academic and career goals by increasing their engagement with resources, networking, and opportunities at CSUCI. Feb. 24, 2024Noche de Familia family event took place at Grand Salon. This annual event invites students and their Spanish speaking family to CSUCI. Families meet faculty, administrators, staff, and learn more about services, resources, and opportunities. Photos from the previous events are on Instagram.
