Did you know?

  • In the early years, all faculty and staff could stand on the steps in front of the Bell Tower.
  • The first new building built on the CSUCI campus in 2003 was the science building, Aliso Hall. The fountain and sculpture “Aspirations” is located at Aliso Plaza.
  • Swallows nest all over campus from March through August. That’s not the only animal life making CSUCI home – there are deer, coyotes, raccoons, and squirrels commonly seen around campus.
  • The Student Union building sits where the University’s first library was previously located.
  • The John Spoor Broome Library was designed by world-renowned architect, Lord Norman Foster.

The campus has been the location for many films, television shows, commercials, and music videos filmed at the campus over the years. Note-worthy projects include Underclassman, Soul Plane, Pearl Harbor, The Biggest Loser, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
