Camarillo, Calif., Sept. 9, 2008—California State University Channel Islands will host a dedication ceremony for its recently restored Bell Tower East Courtyard at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
The event will take place outdoors in the Bell Tower East Courtyard and the campus community and public are invited to attend.
The Bell Tower East Courtyard restoration was made possible by efforts of the Landscape and Courtyard Restoration Committee, which is co-chaired by Steve Blois and Doug Bungert. Many individuals within the community took voluntary roles in supplying the labor and materials that were necessary to complete the project. Among those involved were the Laborers Training School and the Bricklayers Union, Team Transit, and Angelus Block.
“One of the most celebrated activities in our renovation projects has been the restoration and rejuvenation of our historic courtyards,” said University President Richard R. Rush.
RSVPs are requested for this event, but not required, and can be made by calling 805-437-8919 or emailing marti.delao@csuci.edu. Parking is complimentary for this event. Once on campus follow signs to designated event parking areas.
