Camarillo, Calif., April 17, 2008—California State University Channel Islands will host its sixth annual Earth Day celebration from 12 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22. The event will be held at the John Spoor Broome Library entry plaza area.

The student-coordinated event will bring awareness to topics such as marine biology, ecology, geology, functions of watershed, air quality, recycling and sustainability. Both the campus community and the public are invited to learn more about the issues related to each topic and the contributions that can be made on the individual level to remediate such issues.

The event is sponsored by the CSUCI Biology Program, in support of the Biology Club and Free Radicals, a club that connects CSUCI students to science and others in their major.

Limited parking is available on campus and is $6 for a daily permit. Free parking is available at the Camarillo Metrolink Station/Lewis Road parking lot in Camarillo with shuttle service to and from the campus for a $1 fare each way. Riders should board the CSUCI VISTA BUS. There will be way-finding signage on campus directing attendees to parking and the event.
