Camarillo, Calif., Oct. 3, 2008—The California State University Channel Islands Business Advisory Committee and the Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics will host “How the Media Can Help You in Your Business,” a presentation by Tim Gallagher on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Gallagher, a well-known former newsman, will speak from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Grand Salon on the CSU Channel Islands campus. Registration and the mixer for this event begin at 4:45 p.m.

Reservations are complimentary and required for this event. Seating is limited.

Gallagher is founder and president of Gallagher 20/20 Consulting, a Westlake Village firm specializing in reputation building designed to increase financial growth. Prior to establishing his consulting firm, Gallagher was in the news business for 29 years. He was editor of the Ventura County Star newspaper from 1995 to 2004 and publisher from 2004 to 2007. He has a broad knowledge of media practices and will talk about how the new media opportunities can help grow your business.

Limited parking is available on campus and is complimentary. Follow signs to designated event parking areas. Free parking is available at the Camarillo Metrolink Station /Lewis Road parking lot in Camarillo with complimentary shuttle service to and from the campus. Riders should board the CSUCI VISTA Bus. Buses arrive and depart from the Camarillo Metrolink Station every 30 minutes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. For exact times, check the schedule at www.goventura.org.

This event is presented by the Business Advisory Committee and the Martin V. Smith of Business & Economics. The BAC is an advisory and support group of the Martin V. Smith School of Business and Economics at California State University Channel Islands. The BAC is comprised of private and public sector leaders from the region and undergraduate and graduate students of the School. As a voluntary and independent resource to the School, the BAC seeks to further the School’s relevance and prominence in the greater Ventura County area and within the California State University system.
