Camarillo, Calif., March 19, 2008—The Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics at CSUCI has announced Stephen D. Woodworth as the new Chair of the Business Advisory Council. The BAC is a University Advisory Board that makes recommendations and suggestions to assist in the development and improvement of the Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics at CSUCI.

Woodworth will succeed Brad Stark as Chair of the BAC. The BAC Chair position is not limited by a specific term. Stark has served as Chair of the council since 2006 and he is looking forward to his continued participation in the BAC. Stark is the co-founder of the Santa Barbara based advisory firm, Mission Wealth Management, LLC.

“Brad Stark has been an excellent Chair of our BAC. His leadership has greatly assisted us in developing our activities and plans. We look forward to continuing his legacy through the new leadership of Steve Woodworth,” said Bill Cordeiro, Senior Associate Dean and Director of the Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics. Woodworth will begin his role as Chair of the council immediately.

Woodworth is a lifelong resident of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties and has been actively involved in leadership positions with companies and non-profits throughout the region for many years. Most recently he was appointed Vice Chairman and COO/CFO for Blois Construction, Inc. in Oxnard.

“I appreciate the opportunity to be of service to the MVS School of Business & Economics, as well as to the CSUCI extended family,” Woodworth said. “The MVS School has built a solid foundation and reputation in a very short time. I look forward to furthering its goals, assisting its students, and advancing its partnership with the community it supports.”

Woodworth holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Claremont McKenna College, a master of business administration degree from California Lutheran University, and is a graduate of the Managerial Policy Institute at the University of Southern California.
