Camarillo, Calif., Sept. 11, 2012 – CSU Channel Islands (CI) invites friends, supporters, alumni, students and employees to turn Dodger Stadium red with CI pride during the 9th Annual Alumni & Friends Dodger Day on Sunday, Sept. 30.

More than 500 CI alumni and friends are expected to attend as President Richard R. Rush throws out the ceremonial first pitch before the Los Angeles Dodgers take on the Colorado Rockies at 1:10 p.m.

In recognition of CI’s 10th anniversary, Alumni & Friends Dodger Day is open to the public.  Tickets are still available on a first-come, first-served basis for $25 apiece in the infield reserve; seats in the infield box and outfield all-you-can-eat sections are already sold out.

Tickets include a commemorative CI Dodger Day t-shirt and bus transportation between campus and Dodger Stadium.  Attendees should arrive for check-in on the CI campus no later than 9 a.m.  Upon entering campus, follow signs to the free Dodger Day event parking.

To purchase tickets or for more information, go to CI’s homepage at www.csuci.edu and click on the “Dodger Day” button at the bottom of the page.

Alumni & Friends Dodger Day was made possible by the generosity of our Grand Slam Sponsor in support of the American Parkinson’s Disease Association of Los Angeles, Roadrunner Shuttle, the City of Camarillo (the 10th anniversary sponsor), and the Pacific Coast Business Times.

Comprised of more than 1,400 members, CI’s Alumni & Friends Association offers invitations to special events, on- and off-campus discounts, baseball and hockey nights, wine tastings, mentorship and career networking opportunities, newsletters, and a variety of perks and programs throughout the year.  Community members can join for $25 a year.
