Camarillo, Calif., April 8, 2005 – A Business & Technology Partnership Leadership Dinner, sponsored by the California State University Channel Islands Foundation, the Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, and the Pacific Coast Business Times, will be held Tuesday, May 3, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley.

The University’s Business & Technology Partnership fosters collaboration between Ventura County’s companies and CSUCI, and promotes technological excellence among the University’s students, faculty, and staff for the benefit of the region’s economy.

At the event, the B&TP 2005 leadership awards will be presented. John Philpott, Miravant Medical Technology, will be honored with the business and community leader of the year award; Timothy Osslund, Ph.D., Amgen, and a CSUCI lecturer, will receive the technologist of the year award; and Ivona Grzegorczyk, Ph.D., and Ching-Hua Wang, Ph.D., will each be honored with faculty leader of the year awards.

In addition, the city of Camarillo will be recognized for all of its ongoing support of the University and CSUCI scholarship recipients will be announced. Proceeds of the event will fund future CSUCI scholarships.
