Camarillo, Calif., November 29, 2004 -  The California State University Channel Islands Chorus will present its holiday concert, “The Holly and the Ivy,” on Friday, December 10, at the First United Methodist Church in Ventura and Saturday, December 11, at the Padre Serra Catholic Church in Camarillo. Both events, sponsored by the Channel Islands Choral Association, begin at 7:30 p.m.

Under the direction of Kuanfen Liu, artistic director and conductor, the chorus will offer favorite Christmas carols and anthems, including “Deck the Halls,” “The Christmas Song,” “I'll Be Home for Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” two carols in Spanish, selections from “Messiah” and Britten's “Rejoice in the Lamb.” Debra Dyko is the accompanist and Ben Medrano is guest guitarist.

Admission is free but a suggested donation of $15 is requested. The First United Methodist Church is located at 1338 East Santa Clara St. in Ventura and the Padre Serra Catholic Church is located at 5205 Upland Road in Camarillo.
