Camarillo, Calif., April 20, 2005 – “Interpretation and Innovation,” an exhibition of California State University Channel Islands faculty and student art, will be featured from April 23 – May 21 at the Studio Channel Islands Art Center gallery located on the University’s campus.

The public is invited to meet the artists at an opening reception to be held from 4 – 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 23. Refreshments and music will be provided.

The exhibit will include approximately 125 works of art, ranging in artistic style and technique from traditional drawing and painting to experimental mixed media, sculpture and ceramics, graphic design, digital photography, multimedia and hi-tech, and digital video art.

“A unique aspect of this exhibition, which has become a tradition at CSUCI, is the presentation of faculty work displayed adjacent to student artwork, within the same exhibition space,” says Jack Reilly, professor of art and chair of the CSUCI art program.

In addition, jurors from the art community outside of the University, will select awards for student art in various categories.

For more information, contact Jack Reilly, professor of art and chair of the CSUCI Art Program, at 805-437-8863 or visit http://art.csuci.edu.
