Camarillo, Calif., April 8, 2004 - Community volunteers can participate in the highlight of the academic year for California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI). The University invites individuals to join in its commencement celebration, at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 29, as students and their families gather for this special occasion. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 7 a.m. More than 4,000 people are expected to attend.

Volunteers from the community and the University, who are 18 years or older, are needed to assist staff in making preparations for the event to be held outdoors in the south quad of the campus.

Volunteers duties will include: distribution of programs to guests, assisting with refreshments, serving as campus guides for guests of the ceremony, and helping with the procession.
