April 15, 2019 - For the past three years graduating students of color have been celebrated at a personalized ceremony for African American/Black graduates in a smaller, more intimate setting. The Black Student Stoling ceremony will be held on Friday, May 17 at 11 a.m. in Malibu Hall.

This special event recognizes students along with their family and friends to mark the culmination of their student experience. As part of the ceremony, graduates will receive a traditional Kente cloth stole/sash which may be worn during the campus' Commencement celebration.

Students who wish to participate in the Stoling ceremony must RSVP, no later than May 3 at 5 p.m. In addition to a RSVP, they must be in attendance to receive their stole; there is a $25 fee for the stole. Non-graduating students who are interested in participating may also RSVP. There is no cost for general student attendance.
