Detroit wrap-upMay 2, 2018 - You are invited to hear some incredible stories from the group of fourteen CI students who visited Detroit, Michigan over spring break in March. Their stories and experiences will be presented at noon on May 3 in Broome 1750.

Participants in the 2018 Detroit Study/Tour course (UNIV‐391) took a first-hand look at one of America’s most storied cites. In addition to understanding the regional influence of the auto industry, students learned of the history, economics, and culture that shaped the southeastern region of Michigan.

On this trip we met up with a recent CSUCI graduate who, after receiving his degree in May 2017, moved to Detroit to take a job at Quicken Loans. He reported having incredible success making the transition to his new home.

Students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend to learn about the students' experiences.

This UNIV-391 course is sponsored, in large part, by the Instructionally Related Activities Fund. IRA funds support essential educational experiences and are derived from Student Fees paid by all CSU‐CI students. We are grateful to the IRA Committee for their support of this course. A final report to the Committee will detail all trip activities and expenses.
