Oct. 9, 2018 - Have you received a job offer from a Dr. Greenfield or Dr. Largent? If you have, odds are it is a version of the latest employment scam targeting our student population. Recently, the campus has seen an increase in job scams, particularly offers of employment claiming to provide flexibility for college students.  To ensure you are not a victim of these types of scams, be sure to stay vigilant and look for the following signs:

  • If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is
  • Do your research, look online and reach out to infosec@csuci.edu if you question the validity of an e-mail
  • Most jobs require an application, résumé, interview and background check; offers of employment without requiring these items may not be legitimate
  • Asking you to make a purchase (e.g. iTunes gift card)
  • Asking you to share personally identifiable information

You can also use the Better Business Bureau's Scam Tracker to report a scam at https://www.bbb.org/scamtracker/us.
