Feb. 7, 2018 - Assistant Professor of English, Georgina Guzman, has been recognized by the California Association of Teachers of English (CATE) as a college teacher of excellence, a state-wide teaching award, to be presented at this year's annual conference in San Diego.
CATE is a non-profit organization that promotes communication, collaboration and educational knowledge among all responsible for teaching English and the language arts.
Typically only one college faculty member is recognized for teaching each year. Professor Guzman was nominated by the Southland Council of Teachers of English, and the nomination was supported with letters from many of her colleagues and students.
