April 2, 2018 - Please join us for IR’s spring colloquium on April 23 at 9:00 a.m. in the J. Handel Evans Conference Room (Broome 2533). Kristin Jordan (Sociology and IR) and Jared Barton (Economics) will present their recent Research Brief, “Predicting Graduation for First-Time Full-Time Freshmen at CSU Channel Islands.”

A brief summary of the presentation follows:

As part of the 2025 Graduation Initiative, CI is charged with increasing its four- and six-year graduation rates, as well as reducing gaps in those graduation rates between underrepresented minority (URM) students and non-URM students and between low income (Pell-eligible) and non-low income students. In this colloquium, Kristin Jordan and Jared Barton use data from our first-time full time freshmen to decompose the graduation rate gaps into portions "explained" by differences at admission and those that are not, and also to forecast our graduation rates through most of the graduation initiative time frame.

Please share with your colleagues and students; all are welcome.
