April 16, 2020 - Microsoft Teams is a messaging platform for CSUCI groups, teams, or departments. It provides a workspace for real-time collaboration for communication, meetings, files and app sharing.
Teams includes the following tools and capabilities:
- Chat-based collaboration
- Keeps the conversations in one place
- Create, upload, store and share files in one place
- Integrates with Planner to organize and manage tasks
- Virtual space for meetings that include audio, video, and recording capabilities
Teams is taking over the functions of Skype for Business - which will be phased out at CSUCI on June 1 - integrating Skype functions directly into its interface. Use Teams to work on projects between meetings—or use it for a meeting. Make the transition from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams to utilize these new collaboration features.
Skype for Business Online will retire on July 31, 2021.*
