October 9, 2019 - A public safety power shut off warning has been issued that Southern California Edison (SCE) may turn power off within 48 hours in parts of Ventura County due to forecasted Santa Ana winds, which could potentially create dangerous fire conditions later this week. SCE has noted that shutting off circuits would happen only after weather specialists had identified dangerous conditions.

Should the University be notified of a pending power outage, the campus has sufficient generators to supply power to main areas of the campus and will remain open for scheduled classes and activities.

University Glen residents will receive notifications from UG staff and may also register for notifications directly from VC Alert.

Additional information specific to Ventura County may also be found at VC Emergency.
