Sept. 9, 2021 - CSU Channel Islands invites students, faculty, staff, and alumni to roll up their sleeves and participate in the second Round Mountain/hukisunupahani lo’ka’aliyaš ’isatʰwiwa (we restore the path to satʰwiwa) Project on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Located on the CSUCI campus, Round Mountain, satʰwiwa, is sacred to the Chumash people, where ceremonies were conducted in the past and will be again. The continuing work to restore this place of cultural significance includes trail restoration work to provide erosion control measures, restore native plants, and aid in trail identification and educational signage.

COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS: We will be checking in people for contact tracing purposes; masks will be required in any scenario where 50+ people are gathered; masks and hand sanitizer will be provided for participants. IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING FEVER, COUGH, OR OTHER SYMPTOMS, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THIS EVENT.
