Social Justice ConferenceApril 11, 2018 - The School of Education at CSU Channel Islands (CSUCI) invites you to attend the 10th Annual Social Justice in Education Conference. The conference will be held on Saturday, April 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Grand Salon with breakout sessions being held in Del Norte Hall. The purpose of this annual event is to showcase the social justice-oriented work being done in and around schools and educational institutions in the region, to network with others who believe in the power and necessity of such work, and to learn from one another about how best to teach and learn in ways that promote equity, peace and integrity in public education.

This year's theme is the Courts, the Schools and social justice. The theme builds on the powerful scholarship of previous conferences and highlights the essential process of networking, of building a common agenda, and of creating opportunities for collaborative impact to achieve social justice by and through education.

President Erika Beck will be opening our conference this year, with a welcome from Dr. Brian Sevier, Dean of the School of Education and our keynote address will be given by the Honorable Judge Michelle M. Castillo.

The conference is offered at no cost to participants; please register if you plan to attend.
