Dec. 5, 2018

Dear Students,

As a campus leadership, we understand that the next two weeks are filled with studying, final projects, exams, and other responsibilities, and we hope that you feel prepared to finish the semester on a positive note.  Over the past several weeks, I have had the opportunity to connect with many students across campus who have expressed an interest in learning more about the campus’ emergency and safety protocols and procedures.

I would like to invite you to participate in Student Open Forums to discuss and debrief on this topic, where I will be joined by Chief Morris and Lieutenant Massey from the University’s Police Department. During the Open Forums, we will talk through and answer any lingering questions you may have regarding the incident that occurred on campus on Oct. 31, as well as CSUCI’s emergency and safety protocols and procedures.

Thursday, Dec. 6, 12 to 1 p.m. Broome Library Room 1756

Friday, Dec. 7, 10 to 11 a.m. Broome Library Room 1756

We recognize that these forums compete with many other priorities you have right now; however, based on student interest, we did not want to miss the opportunity to hear from students on these matters before the holiday break.  Light refreshments will be served.

Sincerely,

Richard Yao, Ph.D.
Vice President for Student Affairs
