Apr. 19, 2021 - Student Government is proud to bring you guest speaker Anthony McLean on Wednesday, April 21st, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Anthony is know for delivering lively presentations on mental health, diversity, and anti-racism. He has delivered hundreds of inspiring talks across Canada, the US, and Australia. For this event, Anthony will speak to "Mental Health in Times of Change."

Counseling services have seen a 400% increase in young adults reaching out for help during the COVID-19 crisis. This time of massive change has left many students feeling vulnerable and uncertain about the future. However, there are scientifically proven skills that help all of us boost our mental health and resiliency so that we can cope with life’s difficulties.

In this interactive presentation, Anthony shows students practical coping skills for stress as well as the importance of reaching out for help when we're really struggling. Above all, Anthony shows students that mental health is a journey we take as a community. When students support each other, they break the stigma around mental health and empower those who need it the most.
