June 11, 2021 - Don't let online security concerns derail your trip. Whether you're planning a road trip, visiting Europe, or staying locally, these five cybersecurity tips will give you peace of mind and keep you secure.

  1. Protect Physical Devices: Ensure your device is always with you. Whether at the hotel or the airport, don't leave your devices unattended.
  2.  Set up the "find my phone" feature on your devices: This feature allows you to find your lost device, and if necessary, delete the data or disable the device if it gets lost.
  3. Keep your devices clean: Before heading out the door, be sure all web-connected devices are free from malware by running the most current versions of software and apps.
  4. Stop and think before you connect to Public wifi: wifi is available everywhere you go. While it's great to have access, these networks are entirely open and unsecured.
  5. Beware of evil twins: Hackers will set up rouge wifi with names like "free wifi." So please confirm the hotspot with the owner before you connect.
