Sept. 9, 2021 - Camarillo Street between Chapel Drive and the A7 Parking Lot is closed to vehicular traffic due to construction in the street and adjacent lawn areas through the Fall semester. This project will replace existing underground hydronic valves along Camarillo Street and install new underground vaults to service them. Pedestrian access is maintained along the Camarillo Street sidewalk, however, there may be periodic sidewalk closures during construction. Flagmen are provided as needed by the contractor to ensure campus safety. All construction areas are fenced off during construction.

Vehicular Access

  • For access to the Potrero Road entrance to campus, motorists are instructed to take Camarillo Street north to Santa Barbara Street past the University Drive entrance to campus. Proceed to Ventura Street south toward the Potrero Road entrance at Oxnard Drive near Anacapa Village.
  • Access to the SH1, SH2, A10 and A7 parking lots on the south side of campus will be maintained during construction, however they will only be accessible from Ventura Street south to Santa Paula Drive (Student Housing side of campus). Access from the north along Camarillo Street will not be available.

Pedestrian Access

  • While vehicular access along Camarillo Street is closed during the project, the accessible sidewalk along Camarillo Street will remain available to pedestrians throughout the project. In the event that the sidewalk needs to be temporarily closed, alternate routes will be made available to ensure the safety of our campus community.

Please refer to the valve vault traffic routing map and the Camarillo Street closure map showing closures and alternate routes around the campus. Facilities Services will provide periodic progress updates to affected building occupants as the project continues. Thank you for your patience as we continue to improve our campus.
