Jan. 25, 2019 - All faculty are invited to the first lunch meeting of the Arts and Sciences interest group, WISE: Women for Inclusivity in Science and Engineering, on Friday, Feb. 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Solano Hall 2175. Lunch will be provided, courtesy of the Arts and Sciences program.
Come enjoy the good company of others who support WISE and help shape the dialogue around the intersections of equity, community development, and support groups who are historically underrepresented in Science and Engineering.
We are excited to add the unique perspectives of our faculty - and the unique needs of our communities - to conversations happening at the national level through groups such as Women in Science. We want to hear from you! Let us know whether you would participate in WISE and if so, what would your participation look like.
Feedback will be used to gauge interest in the activities that WISE will support, including:
- Community building potluck for WISE supporters
- Professional development
- NSF Program Officer panel
- Best practices in teaching Science & Engineering
- Topics in scholarship workshops
- Service opportunities and community engagement efforts
