Gatherings moved into the virtual realm require additional thought and planning to bring off successfully. A virtual platform’s default settings will not fit all meeting goals. Develop and share expectations with virtual attendees regarding key features of the digital platform (e.g., Zoom) and your expectations for the meeting.

Here are some considerations that should be addressed with participants in advance whenever possible. Providing a set of expectations regularly with meetings helps establish norms of behavior that become self-reinforcing.
