Santa Rosa Island

Santa Rosa Island is one of the five islands comprising Channel Islands National park and is the second largest island off the coast of California. The island lies 27 miles (44 km) south of the mainland and is located approximately 46 miles (74 km) from the Park Headquarters at the Ventura Harbor. The natural and cultural history of the California Channel Islands and the extent of past and current resource management efforts provide an unparalleled opportunity to assess novel management strategies and create extraordinary educational experiences.
