Leading the Way

The Division of Business and Financial Affairs is responsible for leading a variety of committees and advisory groups that are closely tied to the Division’s mission and help serve the broader campus community. Find out more about these committees and groups below.

President's Committees

  • Strategic Resource Planning Committee:  Serves in an advisory capacity to the President on matters pertaining to the development of the budget, alignment of fiscal resources to strategic priorities, and fiscal sustainability. Also serves as a conduit to enhance campus-wide understanding of the campus budget and engage stakeholders in the budget development process. BFA Contact: Barbara Rex.

Division Committees

  • Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) Steering Committee: Collaborates with other CSU campuses to ensure that procedures are in place to make information technology resources and services accessible to all student, faculty, staff and visitors. BFA Contact: James August.
  • Administrative Efficiencies Committee:  Recommends operational improvement activities for administrative efficiencies in all areas of CSUCI and its auxiliaries in order to facilitate administrative and student services that are cost effective and efficient and strategically position the University for the future. BFA Contact: Brian Lindgren.
  • Business Continuity Planning  Task Force: Provides plans to ensure the maintenance of critical university operations when confronted with adverse events such as natural disasters, technology failures, human error, or terrorism. BFA Contact: Maggie Tougas.
  • Emergency Operations Committee: Helps address disasters, critical incidents and major events that require the coordination of all campus assets. BFA Contact: Chief Drake Massey.
  • Environmental Sustainability Task Force: Develops, proposes and recommends campus policies and procedures on sustainability; identifies and prioritizes practices and programs to further the University's sustainability efforts; leads and integrates the best methods of environmental stewardship into campus operations; and advances the institution's engagement in sustainability at a local, state and global level.   • Finance/Human Resources (FHR) Council: Provides a forum to discuss financial services and human resources related topics, such as administrative directives, audits, technical questions, finance updates, and training. BFA Contacts: Stephanie Bracamontes and Laurie Nichols.
  • Food Service Committee: Provides a forum to discuss and recommend action on issues related to campus food service. Conducts on-going review of campus food service and related issues to ensure the best possible food service delivery to the campus community. BFA Contact: Peter Maher.
  • IT Policy & Planning Committee: Guides in developing, updating and reviewing the IT Strategic Plan, reviews major university projects and advises on prioritization, and assists in developing annual IT resource requests. BFA Contact: James August.
  • Physical Master Plan Committee:  Assists the President in the coordination, development and control of a long-range plan (CI 2025)  for the physical development of the campus, within a framework of policy established by the Trustees of the CSU. Established the Alternate Transportation Committee which reviews and advises the campus on issues related to parking and transportation, and provides solutions. BFA Contact: Tom Hunt.
  • Space Advisory Committee: Facilitates the strategic planning and management of campus space, thereby ensuring that the allocation and use of campus space is aligned with the CSU's space utilization standards and guidelines, CI's Strategic Plan, and the Campus Master Plan. BFA Contact: Tom Hunt.
  • Staff Council Sponsors programs, services, and events designed to promote positive communication and a sense of community at CI. BFA Contact: Laurie Nichols.
  • University Safety Committee:  Supports University policy of providing a safe and healthful environment for students, employees and visitors by addressing safety concerns and providing communication between interested parties. BFA Contact: Joyce Spencer.
