March 19, 2021A total of six female AAPI faculty and staff (five faculty and one staff) met through Zoom to share their thoughts and feelings about the tragic 2021 Atlanta shooting where six of the victims were Asian women and discuss collective actions to raise awareness of racial violence and hate crimes towards AAPI communities.
March 25 & 26, 2021Two Zoom forums were held to share concerns and issues related to AAPI hate crimes and racial violence exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fifteen AAPI faculty and staff attended the forums and tentative action items were created.
April 2, 2021The AAPI taskforce team with six faculty and staff members was formed.
May, 2021The AAPI taskforce team obtain endorsements and support from all deans at CI.
May 20, 2021The AAPI taskforce team shared AAPI taskforce team’s accomplishments and our missions for the Association for AAPI faculty and staff with the Provost Avila. Also, obtained Provost’s endorsement for AAPIA.
December 1, 2021The AAPIA official website was launched.
Spring, 2021The first election will be held.
