Kindai University is a private university that focuses on providing opportunities for learning and research in a wide range of disciplines in the arts and sciences. Kindai offers a total of 14 faculties. Their focus is to offer learning "for the real world" by creating advances for the world in complex food supply, energy, and environmental issues.

    • Deadline to Apply: August 15

Eligibility

  • Sophomore or junior standing while abroad.
  • Current CSUCI student in good academic standing at time of application.
  • Have 7 or more courses (minimum 21 units) remaining in their degree plan. Students may not be in their last semester during the program period.
  • Have never studied in Japan prior.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher (students with below a 2.75 GPA should contact the Study Abroad Advisor at courtney.gross@csuci.edu for guidance).
  • Have a major/minor in the following areas of study (Business, Economics, Political Science, Asian Pacific Studies, Global Studies).
  • Japanese language skills are not required although students are encouraged to take Japanese language during their time abroad.

Application

Students must complete a CSUCI Exchange Application first. If selected as a nominee, students will then be directed to complete Kindai's exchange application.

Housing

Students are required to stay at accommodations arranged by Kindai. The types of accommodations available to students include a studio apartment or a student dorm. Location

Kindai University is one of the nation's largest with six campuses around western Japan. The main campus is located in Osaka, often referred to as Higashiosaka Campus, which is located fifteen minutes away from the business center of Osaka and only one hour away from Kyoto, Nara, or Kobe by train.
