Cost [VIDEO ON FINANCING]: Studying abroad is affordable! Tuition matching, financial aid, scholarships, and comparable/cheaper costs of living keep costs reasonable.
Credit [VIDEO?]: You will earn resident credit during your time abroad! You can study abroad through your major or minor, or even pick up a new minor. You can pick GE or UDGE credit abroad.
Connection: You will have a large support system before and during your time abroad! You will meet fellow study abroad students in predeparture orientation and support staff on-site helping you while you abroad.
Chat with a study abroad alumni [WHERE SHOULD THIS GO?]
Step 2: Determine your eligibility and priorities.
Determine your eligibility. Consider:
Cumulative GPA
Area of study (major, minor, GE, or UDGE)
Language skills
Class standing during your time abroad
Make a list of your priorities. Consider:
Location (Region of the world? Country? Small town vs. big city? Weather?)
Length of time (Year, semester, or short-term?)
Budget (Costs equal to or less than CSUCI? Or does it not matter?)
Level of independence desired (More vs. less on-site support? Large cohort of fellow students vs. smal cohort or solo program?)
Language goals (Learn language programs, English-taught, or programs requiring fluency in native language?)
Experiences (Would you want to participate in an internship? Service learning opportunity?)
Step 3: Visit the program pages and compare programs against your criteria.
Don't know what program is best for you? Use the Study Abroad Program Matching Tool [QUALTRICS - HOW CAN I HIGHLIGHT THIS MORE] and let us suggest programs that fit your profile and interests.
After researching, narrow your list to your top 2-3 programs. Put them in rank order, if you can.
