Lille, FranceOverview: LILLE Winter Program

The LILLE Winter is a two-week program designed to give students from all over the world a unique academic and French cultural experience. On top of earning course credit, students will participate in  group dinners, engage in local and regional tours, and have plenty of opportunities to socialize with French students.

Program Details

  • The LILLE Winter program is designed as a full package program, including academic courses and supporting materials, accommodation, meals, transportation pass, extra-curricular activities, and 24/7 personalized assistance.
  • In addition to in-class instruction, the program includes a variety of coures-related field trips to Bruges, Belgium (ancient commercial capital, now a tourism hotspot) and Reims, France (Champagne tour in the city of French coronations).

Program Dates

  • January 10 - January 27, 2024 (*Note, week overlap in start of spring semester at CSUCI)

Deadline to Apply

  • November 13, 2024 - Rolling admissions until deadline (*Subject to change)

Eligibility

  • Current CSUCI student.

Application: Two-Step Process

  1. Complete the CSUCI Short-Term Study Abroad: Direct-Enroll Application.
  2. After completing Step 1, a link will be provided to applicants to apply direct to LILLE Winter. 

Academic Information

Students will earn the equivalent of 4 CSU units through a mandatory morning and afternoon course.

Courses may be pre-approved for GE or major/minor offerings, contingent on advisor approval. Credits can only be applied as overall units to a student's degree. 

Cost

The program cost is approximately 2,500€ (or approx. $2,650, dependent on conversion rates at time of payment). Program payment is due in full to Lille at time of the application deadline. Program costs include:

  • Tuition
  • Course materials
  • Course-related field trips Bruges and Reims
  • Housing 
  • Breakfast and lunch (M-F)
  • LILLE transportation pass
  • 3 group dinners
  • Cultural and social activities (walking tour, visits to regional museums)

The fee does not include roundtrip flight, weekend meals and dinner, transportation to/from airport, travel and health insurance (approx. $75), and other personal expenses.

Housing

Lodging will be arranged in a hotel near campus. Hotel rooms are double occupancy with 2 twin beds per hotel room and an ensuite bathroom.
