Oct. 23, 2017 - The Social Business Innovation Challenge is a contest sponsored by the California Institute for Social Business and Entrepreneurship and Small Business Institute. Teams will compete in a rally-style competition to assemble a product prototype. The product has to address one of the global challenges that are a focus of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (which one is not announced until the event).
Each team will receive the same set of materials and a concept that they are asked to innovate. The teams will be judged on their final creations, but the teams will also be monitored throughout the competition for leadership, team dynamics, design approach, use of time, and, innovation! At the end, the top three teams will be recognized for their efforts with cash prizes. Students can sign up as teams or individuals.
