On Oct. 28, CI students and members of the community came together to celebrate the fifth annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Celebrated Chicana artist Sandra de la Loza, along with members from the CI community, created and installed a 7-ton, 20-by-10-foot sand mural altar exhibition at the Broome Library Plaza. The mural is on display until Nov. 8. In addition to the sand mural, Chicano Art History students created a Day of the Dead altar that is on display in the Library.
