Graduate Portraits – Feb. 11

Congratulations all graduating seniors! The Nautical cordially invites you to make appointments and have your portrait taken by O’Conner Bros. Photography at the Student Union on Thursday, Feb. 11.

The sitting fee for photos is $29 and includes a personalized proof sheet and your choice of a retouched image to be submitted for the yearbook. Caps, gowns, and tassels will be available for use in the photos at no extra charge.

R.A.D. for Women – Feb. 29, Mar. 2, 7, 14

The CI Police Department offers R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) classes throughout the year for students, staff, and faculty of CI. Classes will be held on campus Feb. 29 and March 2, 7 and 14, from 6-9 p.m. This is a 12-hour class (3 hours each day) and participants must attend all four sessions to complete the program. Class size is limited so sign up now at the CI Police Department located in Placer Hall. A $20 fee will be collected at the time of registration, which will be fully refunded upon completion of the course. A waiting list is also being established.

R.A.D. is the largest women's self-defense training program in the country, being taught by more than 350 universities and municipal law enforcement departments nationwide.

The R.A.D. System is a program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques. It is a comprehensive course for women, which begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.

Farewell Celebration for President Rush – April 9

The CSU Channel Islands Foundation will host a black-tie dinner in tribute to our Founding President, Richard R. Rush. The event will take place on Saturday, April 9, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, Air Force One Pavilion, in Simi Valley.

Discounted tickets for CI faculty and staff are sold out, however you can purchase regular priced tickets ($150 each) on-line or by payroll deduction. Discounted tickets are still available for CI Alumni ($75 each, limit two per person) and CI Students ($20 each, limit one per person). Please note there are limited quantities available at these price points.

Join us for this special occasion to celebrate President Rush’s significant contributions and accomplishments.
