STEM Posses and STEM Mentors

The STEM Posses program provides extra support for first-year science and mathematics majors, particularly first-generation students (students whose parents did not attend college). Carefully selected and trained STEM Mentors will meet weekly with a Posse of 6 – 8 students, guiding them in their academic journey and helping them make a successful transition to life as a science or mathematics major. Whenever possible, Posses will include students taking several classes together to aid in formation of study groups. Time will be set aside for advising, mentoring, and even fun! Mentors will also meet individually with Posse members on weekly basis.
