Project PROMESAS has a number of paid student assistant positions each year.  In hiring for these positions, priority is given to students who:

  1. Have had experience working with diverse and/or under-served populations, and
  2. Possess cultural knowledge related to diverse and/or under-served populations

In order to be eligible for a student assistant position, you must: be enrolled at CI; be an undergraduate student; have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA; and be a STEM major. Individual student assistant positions may have added expectations. Due to federal funding restrictions, applicants for student assistant positions must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

STEM Tutors: Students provide tutoring at the STEM Center for STEM courses offered at CI.

STEM Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) Leaders: Students in this position are selected by faculty and the Coordinator of Student Academic Success Services to coordinate small-group learning sessions designed to enhance students' success in a gateway STEM class. Experience as a participant in the PLTL program is required to apply.

STEM Outreach Assistants: Students develop and implement STEM outreach activities at K-12 schools and help foster an interest from K-12 students in pursuing STEM as a career.
