CSUCI is unique in that we are located about 5 miles from the nearest city, sit at the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, and are 10 minutes away from the nearest beach. With the beautiful surrounding geography and the coastal breeze, our campus has the advantage of being in a great location. Choosing to walk over using a motorized vehicle, you contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and invest in your overall health.

Let's Take a Walk

  • Self-Guided Walking Tour (PDF, 1.5 MB) - Whether you are a current or prospective student, become more familiar with the University and the resources each building on the tour has to offer. Stray away from the guide at times and enter buildings you have never ventured to before. You could find your next favorite study spot or place to hang out with friends.
  • University Glen - Break the monotony of your daily walk within the campus core and head towards University Glen. This residential community adjacent to CSUCI provides walking trails within and around the community. It is accessible directly from campus via Rincon Drive, as well as Camarillo Street at Channel Islands Drive.
  • University Park - Walk through history on the trails of this park, which has interesting ties to CSUCI's creation. Located off of Camarillo Street at the Calleguas Creek bridge lies University Park. This park land is owned by CSUCI and is dedicated for education, habitat restoration, recreation, and open space.
