James August

James August joined CSUCI in 2019 as the Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice President for Information Technology. He has over 20 years of experience in information technology and previously served as the Chief Information Security Officer at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, and as the Director of Information Security at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas. Jim holds a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.

Stephanie Bracamontes

Stephanie Bracamontes is the Assistant Vice President for Financial Services/Controller in the Division of Business and Financial Affairs. She joined CSUCI in 2006, has over 18 years of management experience and previously worked in local government, corporate retail. and the gasoline and petroleum wholesale industry.  Stephanie holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Accountancy from California State University, Northridge.

Toni DeBoni

Toni DeBoni joined CSUCI as a founding administrator in 2002. She directly facilitated or contributed to many "firsts" for the campus as well as provided consistent stability for programs, services, and staff within the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) and campus partners prior to her dual appointment in the Division of Business & Financial Affairs and the Office of the President in September 2022. Toni served in a variety of administrator roles supporting almost every program in DSA and most recently held the role of Interim Vice President and prior to that the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs & Dean of Students. Toni completed her Bachelor's Degree in business with an emphasis in Human Resources and her MBA from Florida Gulf Coast University. She continued her passion for education and learning and earned her Juris Doctorate from The Santa Barbara & Ventura Colleges of Law in 2013.

Thomas Hunt

Thomas Hunt joined CSUCI in October 2017 and is the Assistant Vice President for Facilities Services in the Division of Business and Financial Affairs. He brings over 20 years of facilities management experience from the U.S. Navy, Federal Government, and a private university.  Tom holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Florida at Gainesville.  He is a California licensed professional engineer, Certified Energy Manager and Certified Educational Facilities Professional.

Drake Massey

Drake Massey is the Interim Chief of Police and joined CSUCI in August 2018 as a Lieutenant after two years working as a police lieutenant at his alma mater, CSU Bakersfield. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from there. Prior to joining campus policing, Drake had 27 years of service invested in his law enforcement career as a police officer in Delano and the Kern County Sheriff's Office and retired at the rank of commander. His assignments included Patrol, Detectives, Narcotics, Training, Special Operations, SWAT, and Internal Affairs. Joining CSU was like a breath of fresh air. Drake values the positive environment and the wonderful people all helping young adults meet their educational goals. He absolutely loves being a part of the dolphin pod here at CSUCI.

Laurie Nichols

Laurie Nichols joined CSUCI in August 2012 and is the Associate Vice President for Administrative Services  and HRO. She has been a Human Resources professional for over 25 years, coming from the private sector.  Laurie also serves as a member of the President’s Planning and Policy Council at CSUCI.  She holds current certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute as well as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from the Society of Human Resources Management.

Barbara Rex

Barbara Rex is the Associate Vice President for Budget and Planning and is the Interim CFO for CSUCI. She brings over 30 years of experience in financial planning, project management and strategic planning in private higher education, aerospace manufacturing and legal industries. Barbara holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Mercyhurst University along with a Master’s Degree in Contracts and Acquisition Management.
