Greetings from the Vice President

Welcome to the Division of Business and Financial Affairs (DBFA). We provide the CSUCI campus with essential services, and are comprised of seven units as well as the Site Authority and University Auxiliary Services. With fiscal oversight of all campus auxiliaries, as well, the organization structure includes Administrative Services, Budget and Planning, Facilities Services, Financial Services, Information Technology Services, Internal Audit and Public Safety.

Our Approach: Transformation and Collaboration

The challenges we face by reduced funding and anticipated campus growth requires a shift in the way we do business. In addition to incremental improvements in our operations, transformational changes to our unit, program leadership, and business strategies will help us achieve the next level of performance to serve 6,000 FTES and beyond. We are re-conceiving our programs and services, putting systems in place, and intentionally challenging ourselves as leaders. We are also empowering members of DBFA by equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to fully participate in planning, implementation, assessment, and improvement processes.

As we build programs, create structures and processes, and provide next level services, we are deliberately invested in building relationships amongst DBFA units, with other campus units, and with our community partners. The results of these investments are developing in the form of partnerships, LEAN improvements and cost savings, as well as less tangible assets like strengthened trust, goodwill, and capacity for more effective change and further innovation.

While we are a far-ranging division both in our locations across campus as well as the services we provide in support of the University, there are many things that bring us together, including our love of this institution, our passion for supporting student success in everything we do, and our care for and support of our colleagues. I'm truly proud of the work this division does and believe we each have a part in the growth and success of the University.
