Covered California Education Coming to CI!

Starting January 2014, most Californians are required to have some type of health insurance. Covered California (CC) is the State’s new insurance marketplace that allows you to compare and choose affordable plans. CI has arranged for a United Way Covered California Certified Educator to visit campus in November to answer questions about health insurance. The Educator can explain what this new requirement means to you.

Window Washing Initiative

Facilities Services (formerly known as Operations, Planning & Construction) recently accomplished an important milestone by implementing a structured and scheduled window cleaning program. The first campus-wide window cleaning was completed this summer thanks to the dedication of the Facilities Services staff and the help of newly acquired equipment. New, ultra-light carbon fiber equipment makes the process quicker while the use of deionized water eliminates the need for chemicals.

A team of custodians cleaned all the interior windows throughout campus and Danny McDougald, a lead custodian, dedicated two months to washing all the exterior windows including unoccupied buildings. The improved process and increased frequency of campus-wide window washing is just one example of the efforts put forth by members of Facilities Services to enhance the campus.
