The Health Corps members will intern in the public health sector with a local non-profit in the areas of advocacy, research and/or community education and outreach. These internships are dependent upon the needs of the participating community organization.

Applicants must:

  • Be a current CSUCI undergraduate student
  • Serve a maximum of 100 hours (approx. 3 hours/week)
  • Make a one-year commitment (Aug - May)
  • Have reliable transportation to off-campus site
  • Pay rate: $20.00 an hour

  • Hailey

    Hailey Martinez

    Hailey Martinez is a junior, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Chicana/o Studies. She was attracted to this position because of the opportunity to engage in the community. She believes it’s important to be involved in the community and support mutually beneficial relationships. After graduation, Hailey plans to work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and work with justice-involved youth . Hailey will be serving at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center.
  • Josefina Tellez Gomez

    Josefina Tellez Gomez is a first year, majoring in Health Science and Pre-Nursing. She was attracted to this position because she wanted to work with an organization that provided free health services to people in her community. After graduation, Josefina plans to work as a Registered Nurse and eventually, as a Nurse Practitioner. She will be serving as a medical scribe at Westminster Free Clinic in Santa Paula.
