Available Terms Abroad

  • Academic Year: End of August to end of May 
    • Deadline to Apply: April 15
  • Fall Semester: End of August to middle of December
    • Deadline to Apply: April 15
  • Spring Semester: Early January to end of May
    • Deadline to Apply: September 15

Eligibility

  • Sophomore, junior, or senior standing while abroad. 
  • Current CSUCI student in good academic standing at time of application.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above (students with below a 2.75 GPA should contact the Study Abroad Advisor at courtney.gross@csuci.edu for guidance).
  • No Finnish language skills are required, although students are encouraged to take a Finnish language course abroad.

To Apply

Students must complete a CSUCI Exchange Application first. If selected as a nominee, students will then be directed to complete Centria's application.

Housing

Student accommodation is made available to all exchange students and is requested at time of host university application. Students apartments are equipped with individuals rooms and a shared kitchen and bathroom. Rent is between 200 - 300 Euro per month.

Location

Kokkola is a town of 47,000 people and is located on the beautiful coast of the Gulf of Bothnia. The Centria campus is close to the city center where students can enjoy a cozy, international atmosphere and modern facilities. When in Finland, students can easily travel throughout the country and engage in a number of activities including relaxing in a sauna, ice-fishing in the frozen sea, hiking in the pine forests, or witnessing the breathtaking Northern Lights.
