Support Basic Needs

Financial Contributions towards the Basic Needs Program

Basic Needs operates from state funding, as well as donor dollars. Our donors help our area put on programming events such as our Farmer's Market, helps us stock our Dolphin Pantry Shelves when community donations go quickly, support our students that experienced an unexpected expense or housing crisis that jeopardizes their ability to continue their education and more. If you are interested in supporting the Basic Needs program or any of our embedded services within Basic Needs more directly, please review the opportunities identified below:

Volunteer at Modoc Garden!

Looking for a meaningful way to get involved on campus? Modoc Garden is a collaborative effort between Basic Needs, the Biology Department, CalThrive, and Native Monarchs. Together, we grow fresh produce that is donated to the Dolphin Pantry to support students experiencing food insecurity.

We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with:

  • Weeding
  • Planting
  • Harvesting

Volunteer opportunities are open to current CSU Channel Islands students, faculty, and staff.

Interested in helping? Please contact basicneeds@csuci.edu to learn about current volunteer opportunities and availability.

Join us in growing fresh food and strengthening our campus community—one garden bed at a time!
