The CSUCI University Scholarship Program 

CSU Channel Islands is pleased to offer a wide variety of scholarships through the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office. We are proud to honor the academic talents and achievements of our students and promote their future success.

How to Apply to the CSUCI University Scholarship Program

  1. Complete an online scholarship application. Students must log in through their myCI portal. Under "My Links", click on the "CI Scholarships" link to apply.
  2. All applicants must file a 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or a 2019-2020 Dream Act Application.
  3. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 15 units for the Fall and Spring semesters.
  4. Upload two letters of recommendation to your general application (no hand delivered or mailed letters will be accepted)
  5. Current high school seniors and new transfer students must have their most recent transcripts submitted to the CSUCI Admissions Office.
  6. Submit application and all required documents by the deadline.  
    The Deadline is March 2, 2019 at 11:59pm (PST)
  7. Once you complete the General Scholarship application, a page will appear with additional scholarships you may be eligible for. These scholarships require additional information. Make sure you read through each scholarship and apply to all scholarships that you meet the eligibility criteria.

President’s Scholars Program

This prestigious program provides a foundation for high-achieving students to develop and attain their potential for success as scholars, leaders, and community members. CSUCI President's Scholars are given the tools to prepare for lives of scholarship, leadership, and service.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Incoming first-time freshman.
  • Resident of California with a 3.75 GPA (as calculated for CSU admission).

How to Apply to the President's Scholars Program

*The President's Scholars scholarship may be renewed up to four years, if all requirements are met. Only one scholarship application is required. You need to complete the General Scholarship application which will be available January 1, 2019. 


CSU Systemwide Scholarships

The California State University Foundation works with donors interested in funding scholarship opportunities on a system wide basis. Currently, the CSU Foundation administers over $5 million in annual and endowed scholarships. CSU Trustees' Award for Outstanding Achievement

The CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement recognizes students who epitomize superior academic performance, exemplary community service and significant personal achievements. These students also overcome tremendous personal hardships and demonstrate financial need. The base scholarship is $6,000 with opportunities to receive enhanced awards.

The William Randolph Hearst Foundation initiated the program in 1984 with an endowment that supports six scholars. Individual contributions from members of the CSU Board of Trustees and CSU Foundation Board of Governors, in addition to other supporters, sustain 23 awards. Campus presidents nominate one recipient per campus.

The Trustee Emeritus Ali C. Razi Scholar best demonstrates the principles of this award program and receives $12,000. The student who has given the most service to his or her home, university or global community is named the Trustee Emeritus Murray L. Galinson Scholar and receives $8,000.
