For all proposal elements, we recommend that you refer to the National Science Foundation’s Proposal Award Policies and Procedures Guide

When applying to the National Science Foundation (NSF), all Principal Investigators (PIs), Co-Investigators (Co-PIs), Senior and Key Personnel, and any other individuals will need to use the following templates as part of the proposal submission. In addition to the NSF templates, here are some additional tools to assist as you prepare your NSF proposal. You can view/download NSF templates using the NSF Toolkit folder located on RSP’s OneDrive.

Biographical Sketch (Biosketch)

NSF has partnered with the National Institutes of Health to use SciENcv: Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitaeas the NSF-approved format for use in preparation of the biographical sketch section of an NSF proposal.

Proposers must use SciENcv to prepare their biographical sketches for proposals to NSF.

SciENcv will produce an NSF-compliant PDF version of the biographical sketch. Proposers must save this document and submit it as part of their proposal via Research.gov or Grants.gov.
